Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Here are answers to some of the most common questions about the Smart Attendance Dashboard and college attendance rules.

Q: How accurate is the data on this dashboard? Where does it come from?

A: The data is 100% accurate. This website does not store any of your data. Instead, when you enter your roll number, it securely connects into the college in the background and fetches your latest attendance data in real-time. What you see here is the exact same data you would see on the official site, just presented in a faster, more user-friendly way.

Q: Can the college see that I am using this website? Is it safe?

A: The college officials cannot see who uses this tool. The website is fetching data on your behalf. It is safe to use and does not store your roll number after your session ends. The only data logged is anonymous visit counts for statistical purposes.

Q: Is the 75% rule based on my overall average or subject-by-subject?

A: For students of AEC and ACET, the rule is based on your **final, overall attendance percentage**. For Aditya University (AUS), the rules may require you to maintain the percentage in each individual subject. Always confirm the specific rule for your campus.

Q: Does missing a class on a Saturday hurt my percentage more?

A: No, this is a common myth. Your attendance is a simple calculation: (Classes Attended / Total Classes Held). The day of the week does not matter. Missing one class has the same mathematical impact whether it's on a Monday or a Saturday.

Q: What is the first thing I should do if my attendance is low?

A: Stop taking leaves immediately and contact your assigned Proctor. They are your first point of contact and can guide you on the next steps. Early communication is the most important thing you can do.

Q: What is "On-Duty" (OD) Leave?

A: On-duty leave is official permission to miss class for approved college activities (like workshops, sports events, or hackathons) without it hurting your attendance. You must get a permission letter signed first by the event coordinator and then by your HOD *before* the event.
